Shred-A-Thon
The WSLS 10 Shred-A-Thon – Protecting the Identity of Southwest Virginia
(Roanoke, VA) --- The WSLS 10 Shred-A-Thon is back and coming to five cities in 5 weeks, helping
to secure the identity of thousands in the region.
In its fifth “Shred-A-Thon” event, WSLS 10 will again partner with Kodiak Shredding and Schewels.
So far, more than 1.5 million pounds of paper have been shredded and recycled. From October 24th through November 21st, all Virginians are encouraged to visit 5 designated locations to have
their sensitive information securely shredded. “The response we have received from the community
has been tremendous,” said WSLS 10 General Manager Garry Kelly. “In Roanoke during May, we collected 365,000 pounds of paper. All of this was recycled and kept out of local landfills.”
This event is free and there is no limit on how much anyone can bring. All residents and businesses are welcome to visit each WSLS 10 Shred-A-Thon site from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m.
